Calli Baker’s Firehouse had its beginnings as Calli Baker’s Roadhouse in the early 1990s, in the Kroger shopping plaza in North Myrtle Beach, SC.  The original owners, Debbie Breaire and Mike Hilton, established the restaurant as what was to become a locals’ favorite.  In the late 1990s, the restaurant was moved south to 511 Lake Arrowhead Road, where it continued to live up to its reputation as an establishment that served large portions of good food, great service, and a place to relax and unwind.

In 2005, active duty firemen, Heath Scurfield and Jack Montgomery purchased Calli Baker’s Roadhouse and changed its name to Calli Baker’s Firehouse, in honor of the profession they both serve.  While the theme and décor changed, the dedication to customer service, comfortable atmosphere, and good food remained.

In 2007, Chief Montgomery left Calli Baker’s to continue his service with the Navel Weapons Station in Charleston, SC.  Captain Scurfield remained as sole owner to continue to provide Calli Baker’s to both locals and tourists.

In July 2008, Heath moved his business to a much larger establishment, its current location, 10131 North Kings Highway, in front of Myrtle Beach Mall.  He takes pride in continuing the Calli Baker’s tradition—good food, good atmosphere, good times.

Walking through Calli Baker’s is like visiting a museum dedicated to public safety individuals.  Tee shirts, patches, and memorabilia serve as a reminder of the daily sacrifice firefighters, EMS personnel, and police officers give every day.  Patrons from around the world, as far away as New Zealand, have generously donated much of Calli’s collection; they have often times given Heath the shirts off of their backs!

Stop by Calli Baker’s, whether you are a public safety officer or a local or tourist seeking a great restaurant.  Happy Hour is seven days a week from 4-7.  We have drink and food special daily and entertainment from Wednesday to Saturday.  Sundays offer great NASCAR and football special.  Check out our event calendar on the website or call us at 843-692-0788 for more information.  We look forward to seeing you soon.  We wish all public safety officials safety in their performance in the line of service.

Many thanks!
